Eagles Up demands Justice for the assaulted family- The Borough responds

The assault on the Swartout family in Edinboro has generate a huge response, including this letter to Taras (TJ) Jemetz, Borough Manager, which demands not just answers, but action regarding the police’s inaction.

Borough of Edinboro,

A family visits Edinboro to support our troops and families… what do they
get? Attacked by hoodlums.

Edinboro in general should be ashamed and the police department specifically
should be investigated for failing to protect the public.

The lack of police action borders on criminal in itself which may be
referred to Federal Prosecutors… Edinboro will likely experience legal
action for despicable and cowardly inaction by your police
department…… also the attackers will be held accountable.

TJ answers thus:

Sir,

Thank you for your inquiry.

The matter is under investigation. The DA is being consulted regarding
possible charges against the people involved.

Taras (TJ) Jemetz
Borough Manager

Not much of an answer.

Harry responds:

Dear Mr. Jemetz, Edinboro Manager

Thank you very much for your timely response.

I trust the investigation will clearly determine that a husband (Iraq Vet), wife and family were in Edinboro as Americans standing up for our nation, our troops, and families.

There was absolutely no hostile action initiated by the family who were subjected to an unprovoked attack, simply because they desired to exercise their constitutional right. When it becomes a threat for an American to stand up for America, then America has clearly lost it’s way.

It is my prayer that truth and justice will follow this investigation. To do otherwise would be a severe stain on our nation, it’s fabric, the warriors and families that secure our freedom.

There are thousands following this incident Mr. Jemetz… you are urged to insist a thorough, unbiased, and complete investigation be concluded.

Please ensure appropriate public disclosure is exercised as the investigation progresses.

Respectfully,

Harry Riley, COL, USA, Ret

  1. I think this is a very biased representation of what actually happened. The Erie Times News has produced an article and accompanying video that shows the Military family is less than innocent and in fact instigated the fight, starting with Jason the Militant saying that if one of the protesters touches him he has the ‘right to defend himself’. That man is in a wheelchair. The family is a bunch of peace haters who instigate fights!

  2. Hey “way”, what video are you referring to?????????

  3. Yes, Way, do tell us where this video is.

In the meantime, let’s figure out why the police aren’t being neutral and indiscriminate like they should be. Because even if it was ‘their fault’, as you say, then the police still should have stepped in.

  4. Any way, if any of these ideas make you rich or famous, please remember me. ,
